Healthiest food on the planet

Whole Foods has come up with a product that is arguably the healthiest food a human can eat. And though I did qualify my claim by saying arguably, I think it would be really hard to come up with something healthier than their frozen “Leafy Greens Blend”.

healthiest food on the planet! Some people say kale is the healthiest food you can eat.  After all, it’s got a perfect score of 1000 on the ANDI scale, which means there’s nothing healthier you can eat. How can you improve on perfection? Only by adding other equally healthy greens for diversity!

Collard greens and mustard greens also score 1000 on the ANDI scale. However, though all three greens have a perfect ANDI score, they have different nutrient profiles. They’re equally good for you, but contain different amounts of the various micro-nutrients. Which means not only are you eating the healthiest foods possible, but you’re also getting a variety of nutrients at the same time!

With an ingredient list that includes only collard greens, kale, and mustard greens, you hardly need to look at the nutritional content. But just for fun here it is anyway. Not many nutritional labels look like this!

Eat healthy every day

If you can work this blend into your diet on a daily basis, you can seriously increase your consumption of micro-nutrients. This can have a huge impact on your health.

Because the blend is frozen, it’s easy to always have it on hand. You can keep bags of it in the freezer without having to worry about it going bad, like you do with fresh greens. And because it’s frozen, it’s perfect for smoothies.

I find smoothies the easiest way to eat lots of greens. In fact I have a smoothie with loads of this blend at least once a day. I generally eat a very healthy diet, but this is hands down the healthiest component of it!

If anyone has ever heard of an equivalent product, I would love to hear about it (please email me or leave a comment below!).

  1. Potatoes are a very popular food around the world. They are loaded with potassium, and contain a little bit of almost every nutrient we need, including vitamin C.
